Is Three Otters handicap accessible? We have done our best to make Three Otters handicap accessible including ramps on our structures, designing wheelchair friendly kitchens, and providing a full ADA restroom. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Is Three Otters pet-friendly? And, if so, are there any additional fees for pets? Dogs are welcome, but they must be leashed. We suggest that you tent camp if you wish to bring a dog. That said, we do allow dogs to stay in the cabin, yurt, and tent cottage. However, we charge $15 for each dog to cover cleaning costs. You may not bring more than 2 dogs. Dogs are not permitted on the Overlook Deck, in the River Kitchen or in the Grill Pavilion. In addition, dogs are not permitted in the Bell Tents, Tree Tents, Pop Up Camper, or Vintage Campers.
Road In & Cars
Is AWD or 4WD really required for those last few miles? It depends. Vans are fine, and sedans and even little cars do well on dry summer days. But, after a heavy rain, the dirt road becomes a series of puddles, some rather large. So, just keep one side of your car's tires on the gravel edge as you make your way around puddles. Getting there truly is part of the adventure, and the good news....we have never had anyone get stuck or lost, so you should be fine. What’s the deal with cars on the property? Outside of designated parking areas, there are no cars permitted on the property. When you arrive, you’ll park, check in and transfer your gear to your lodging site with carts. If anyone in your group needs assistance getting to their sites or moving gear, we are more than happy to help.
What is your electronics policy? When we mentioned “unplugging” before, we were being literal. At Three Otters, other than taking photos, electronics are discouraged in community spaces. Do you have cellphone service? Yes, but it’s spotty at best.
Do you have wireless or internet connection? No, we don't. However, Cox Campground, just 20 minutes away provides free internet. You can check them out at coxcamping.com.
Alcohol / Drugs / Tobacco
What is the policy on alcohol? For those age 21+, alcohol is allowed in moderation. We are a small, family friendly space and will have absolutely no tolerance for any drunk and/or disorderly behavior. Quiet hours must be respected. While we don’t sell alcohol, we do strictly enforce the legal drinking age of 21.
What about smoking? Other drugs? Tobacco smoking is permitted on the property, but only in designated areas. All structures & community spaces are smoke free. Marijuana use is illegal in WV and therefore is not permitted. No illegal drugs, no misuse of drugs. Any violations and we will call the police and/or send you home.
Hunting Are hunters welcome at Three Otters? Yes, if you are a hunter we welcome you to Three Otters. However, there is no hunting allowed on the property. Firearms must be secure at all times (e.g., locked in your car) and there is absolutely no firing of weapons of any kind at anytime on Three Otters property.
